Private Stanley Timothy (service no. 4114) was born in Victoria circa 1898. The family came to Mount Kembla to live, where Stanley later spent some time in 37th Illawarra cadets.

Stanley's parents gave permission for him to enlist when he was 18 years old. He embarked on HMAT A40 Ceramic with 10th Reinforcements, 30th Battalion on 7th October, 1916. He saw service on the Western Front with A Company 30th Battalion.

On 28th September, 1917 he was wounded in action, receiving a shrapnel wound to his chest and arm. He was evacuated to hospital in England for treatment.

Stanley returned to Australia in April 1918 and was discharged medically unfit on 30th November, 1918.

He died in Wollongong in 1963.

Stanley's brother Ernest Timothy served with 45th Battalion.
