Cecil William Brewer
Cecil Brewer (Service No 90711) was born in Unanderra and attended Unanderra Public School. He was only 20 years old when he enlisted with his father's permission to join the AIF. At that time he worked as a porter and was single.
Cecil was still in Sydney when the war ended and he was discharged on 31st December, 1918, having never been posted overseas.
After discharge Cecil returned to the Railways to work as a shunter. On 31st January, 1921 he was tragically killed after uncoupling an engine which ran over him.
Cecil Brewer is remembered on the Unanderra School Roll of Honour.
