Charles John Frew
Private Charles Frew (Service no. 4770) was born in Bulli circa 1888. In 1916 he married Violet Adey and at the time of enlistment he was listed as a 28 year old pastry cook.
Although Charles was missing several fingers, he enlisted at a time when replecments were urgently needed, so was accepted.
He embarked on HMAT A68 Anchises with 13th Reinforcements 30th Battalion on 24th January, 1917. He saw service in England, but was returned to Australia in June 1918 and discharged medically unfit on 2nd September, 1918.
