Reginald Raymond Wildman
Private Reginald Wildman (Service no. 1888) was born on 14th April, 1896 in Wollongong to a single mother, and he was a single 18 year old farm hand when he enlisted.
Reginald had been living with people by the name of Wildman and enlisted under that name rather than his birth name of Bradney. He embarked on HMAT A8 Argyllshire with 4th Reinforcements 2nd Battalion on 10th April, 1915 and arrived on Gallipoli on 31st May, 1915.
Evacuated to hospital in Cairo due to illness in June 1915, Reginald returned to Gallipoli on 13th July, 1915 where he took part in the Lone Pine Battle and survived until the evacuation.
Back in Egypt he was transferred to 54th Battalion on 14th February, 1916. He then travelled to France and was at the Battle of Fromelles where he was killed in action during the night of 19/20 July.
Private Wildman was originally listed with 'No Known Grave', but in 2010 was identified and interred in Fromelles Pheasant Wood Cemetery Plot III, Row A, Grave 4.
