Charles Henry Gadd
Charles Gadd (Service No 4501).was born in Helensburgh, NSW about 1896. At the time of enlistment he was a single 19 year old miner who had served in the CMF.
He embarked on RMS Osterly on 15th January 1916 with 14th Reinforcements, 1st Battalion. After arriving in Egypt he was transferred to 13th Battalion on 4th February 1916 and was sent to France with them .
Charles was killed in action at the Somme on 14th August 1916. He is buried in Puschevillers British Cemetery Plot II, Row A, Grave 67.
