Arthur Moore (Service No 1973) was born in Bowral about 1892. At the time of his enlistment he was a single 23 year old shunter from Bulli.

He embarked on HMAT A54 Runic on 9th August 1915 with 3rd Reinforcements, 18th Battalion and arrived on Gallipoli on 11th October 1915. Arthur served there till the evacuation.

After rest and reorganization he went to France with the battalion and was engaged in the Somme battles.

Arthur was killed in action during the fighting for Moquet Farm and was buried in the Poziere battlefield but has no known grave. He is remembered on the Australian National Memorial at Villers- Bretonneaux.
