Thomas Bartlett (Service No 1245) was born in Nowra, NSW and had married Beatrice Clark in 1903. At the time of enlistment he was a 40 year old labourer living in Wollongong with his family.

He embarked on HMAT A67 Orsova on 10th November 1915 with Australian Remount Unit 2, 5th Squadron. Thomas saw service in Egypt where he had a number of hospital admissions due to illness. He returned to Australia in June 1919 and was discharged on 20th September 1919.

Thomas Bartlett served in the Boer War from 1899 till 1902, as Trooper 1378, New South Wales Imperial Bushman E Company.

Thomas died in Wollongong in 1943 and is remembered on the Wollongong Presbyterian Church Roll of Honour.
