Bertie Frederick Pryme
Bertie Pryme (Service No 6135) was born in Wollongong, N.S.W. in 1887. He moved to Queensland and on 8th March 1910 he married Annie Summers.
When he enlisted he was a married 28 year old motor mechanic living in Rockhampton.
Bertie embarked from Brisbane on HMAT A75 Marathon with the 17th Reinforcements, 26th Battalion on 27th October 1916. He arrived in England on 9th January 1917. On 31st January Bertie was admitted to hospital with bronchitis, and died on 1st February 1917, without seeing active service.
Bertie was buried with full military honours a few day later in Durington Cemetery Wiltshire. (Grave 170).
