James Arthur Mini
James Mini (Service No 1966) was born in Wattle Flat near Bathurst about 1876 and at the time of enlistment was a single 39 year old miner from Helensburgh.
He embarked on HMAT A69 Warilda with 3rd Reinforcements, 45th Battalion on 22nd May 1916 and arrived in England on 18th July 1916. After training James was sent to France on 11th September 1916 where he joined the 45th battalion in Belgium on 22nd September 1916.
James was wounded in action on 2nd October 1916, receiving severe wounds to his legs and hands, his left leg being shattered. He was evacuated to 10th Casualty Clearing Station but died there from his wounds on the same day.
James is buried in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery Plot X, Row B, Grave 21.
