Arthur William Jamieson
Arthur Jamieson (Service No 60465) was born in the Shoalhaven region on the South Coast of N.S.W.
Arthur enlisted at the age of 20, when he was single, and working as a labourer. At this time he lived in Nowra, N.S.W.
He embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A41 Bakara with 17th General Reinforcements on 4th September 1918.
On 19th October 1918 William was admitted to the ship's hospital suffering from influenza. William developed pneumonia and subsequently died of heart failure while still at sea on 24th October 1918.
William is buried at the King Tom Naval and Military Cemetery in Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa; Plot 1, Row 97.
