Leslie Watts
Leslie Watts (Service No 2758) was born in Jamberoo, N.S.W.
Leslie enlistment at the age of 22. He was single and a farmer.
He embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A40 Ceramic with 6th Reinforcements, 52nd Battalion on 7th October 1916. When the toops arrived in England on 21st November 1916, Leslie was admitted to hospital sick that same day.
He was noat able to join his Battalion in France until 15th January 1917.
Leslie was admitted to hospital in France on 6th April 1917 with trench foot, and returned to his unit on 25th May 1917.
On 11th July 1917 the Battalion was in a rest camp at Canteen Corner when the hut Leslie was in was hit by a shell, and he was killed.
Leslie is buried in Pont D Achelles Military Cemetery, France: Plot II, Row D, Grave 1.
