William Graham
William Graham (Service No 4041) was born in Woonona, N.S.W. around 1895.
William enlisted when he was 21 years old. He was single and employed as an electric mechanic. William had previously served 7 years in 37th Infantry CMF.
He embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A40 Ceramic with 10th Reinforcements, 30th Battalion on 7th October 1916. The troops arrived in England on 21st November 1916 and after further training David joined his unit in France on 5th February 1917.
David served on the Western Front with 9 Platoon, C Company, 30th Battalion. On 28th August 1918 he was employed as the Company runner delivering a message when he was hit by machine gun bullets and killed.
David is buried in Assevillers New British Cemetery, France: Plot III, Row A, Grave 6.
