Thomas Pepper (Serevice No 3103) was born in Berry, N.S.W.

Thomas enlisted at the age of 31; he was single and working as farmer.  Thomas had 3 younger brothers who all enlisted. 

He embarked frin /sydney on board HMAT A68 Anchises with 7th Reinforcements, 34th Battalion on 24th January 1917.  The troops arrived in England on 27th March 1917, and Thomas was the last of the brothers to be deployed to France.

Thomas served on the Western Front until 31st March 1918, when sustained shrapnel wounds to his chest and left shoulder, and sent to England for treatment. He was returned to his unit on 24th September 1918.

Thomas survived the war and returned to Australia in September 1919.  He was discharged on 7th December 1919.

In 1921 he married Dallis Wort.
