Henry Ernest Horton
Henry Horton (Service No 2153) was born around 1890 in Auburn, Sydney.
When Henry enlisted at the age of 25 he lived at Thirroul, N.S.W. , was single, and employed as a carpenter.
Henry embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A8 Argyllshire with 4th Reinforcements, 19th Battalion, on 30th September 1915. The troops arrived in Egypt on 8th January 1916 and Henry was taken on strength by 4 Platoon, A Company, and served on the Western Front.
Henry arrived in France on 25th March 1916; on 29th May 1916, durings fighting a shell hit the trenches and Henry was killed along with a number of others.
Henry is buried in Brewery Orchard Cemetery,Bois-Grenier,France; Plot IV, Row C, Grave 13.
