Thomas Gracie Crozier
Thomas Crozier (Service no 1907) was born in Scotland around 1889.
Thomas was 26 years old and living at Scarborough,N.S.W. when he enlisted. He was single and working as a miner.
He embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A54 Runic with 3rdRreinforcements, 18th Battalion, on 9th August 1915.
The troops arrived in Egypt and while on his way to Gallipoli, Thomas was admitted to hospital at Mudros on 12th October 1915.
Thomas finally arrived on Gallipoli on 17th November 1915 and served there till the evacuation.
Once back in Egypt, Thomas was transferred to 2nd Pioneer Battalion on 8th March 1916. The Battalion arrived in France on 26th March 1916.
On 15th May 1916, while fighting in the Armentieres sector, Thomas was seriously wounded and evacuated to hospital in England on 18th May 1916. He had received a gun shot wound to his back which resulted in total paralysis of his lower body.
Thomas was discharged medically unfit in London on 21st August 1916 and admitted to a Red Cross hospital, Ralston House, Paisley, where he died on 19th July 1917.
