Robert West Reid
Robert Reid (Service No 1894) was born at Shellharbour, N.S.W.
When he enlisted at the age of 37 at Lismore, N.S.W., he was single and worked as a farmer at Tabulam.
Robert embarked from Brisbane on board HMAT A42 Boorara with 2nd Reinforcements, 41st Battalion on 16th August 1916.
The troops arrived in England on 13th October 1916 and Robert was sent on to France on 26th January 1917. Robert served on the Western Front and was involved in the fighting at Passchendael where he was killed in action on 16th October 1917.
There is no known grave for Robert; he is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial at Ypres, Belgium.
