Raymond McIntyre (Service No 2613) was born in Jaspers Brush, N.S.W. around 1898.  He attended Jaspers Brush Public School and served 2 years in the Cadets.

Raymond enlisted at Kiama, N.S.W. when he as 18 years old; he was single and worked as a farmer.  He embarked from Sydney on HMAT A24 Benalla with 5th Reinforcements, 37th Battalion on 9th November 1916.  The troops arrived in England on 9th January 1917 and Raymond joined his unit on the Western Front on 6th July 1917.

He was carrying out duties as a signaller with Headquarters Coympany, 37th Battalion, carrying telephone cable to the front, when he was came under shell fire and was killed instantly.   

There is no known grave for Raymond; he is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial at Ypres, Belgium.

Raymond's brother Thomas (Service No 420) also died in the fighting and is commemorated on the Menin Gate.
