Charles Renwick was born in Sydney. He attended Sydney Grammar School and then went on to Sydney University where he studied medicine.

In 1913, Charles married Eileen Holland. At the time of enlistment Charles was a married 32 year old Doctor from Austinmer.

Charles embarked on HMAT A24 Benalla as a Captain AAMC with 35th Battalion Headquarters on 1st May, 1916. Charles arrived in England on 9th June, 1916 and then went to France on 23rd December, 1916.

On 1st June,1917 Charles was wounded in action at Messines and admitted to hospital for treatment for concussion. He was sent to England for treatment and returned to France on 30th July, 1917. Charles joined 9th Field Ambulance on 31st July, 1917.

On 11th August, 1917 Charles was admitted to hospital sick. He does not appear to have fully recovered from his concussion and was returned to Australia on 8th November, 1918. Charles was discharged on 3rd February, 1919.

Charles returned to his practice in Austinmer and died in 1938.
