Donald McLeod (Service No 6370) was born in Bega, N.S.W.

Donald enlisted with his brother George (Service No 6369) at the age of 23.  Donald and his brother were farmers together at Albion Park, N.S.W, enlisted together (they have consecutive Service Numbers), and seemed to have served together, returning home on the same ship.

Previous to enlisting, Donald had served 5 years with A Squadron, 28th Light Horse, Albion Park Militia.

Donald embarked with his brother and the 18th Reinforcements, 18th Battalion, from Sydney on HMAT A29 Suevic on 11th November 1916.

The troops arrived in England on 30th January 1917 and arrived in France on 20th May 1917.

On 26th July 1917 Donald was promoted to Lance Corporal.

On 16th April 1918 he was admitted to hospital with Trench Fever.

Donald returned to Australia in July 1919 and was discharged on 16th October 1919.

In May 1924 he married and he and his wife went of to have 5 children.

Donald died in Maitland, N.S.W. on his birthday 1954.
