Alfred Nathan Shipp
Nathan and Emma Shipp married in Wollongong 1876. On 21 December 1892, Alfred Nathan Shipp was born. He attended Wollongong district school and became a teacher at Mount Kembla school prior to the war.
He enlisted on 27 April 1914 and was promoted to Corporal not long after (1/9/14).
Alfred was killed in action on 27 April 1915 in Gallipoli; he was 22 years of age. His nephew, Matthew Tubman of Keiraville enlisted and was killed in action on 22 January 1917.
He is commemorated at Lone Pine Memorial (number 19).

Your sister went on to have a boy named Vivian James Mott who was my grandfather. This makes you my great uncle. Our family are so very proud of your great efforts for King and Country.

Thanks for your comments. I'm afraid that we don't know the names of her parents...only that her maiden name was Parsons. The Illawarra Family History Group meets at the library on Wednesday & Friday mornings, & would be able to assist you in some research.
