Thomas Ramsay (Service No 19918) was born in Leith, Scotland.

Thomas married Mary Deucharsh and together they raised 6 children.

At enlistment Thomas was 32 years age, lived at Helensburgh, N.S.W. and was employed as a fireman.

He embarked from Melbourne on HMAT A71 Nestor with August 1917 Reinforcements on 21st November 1917. He arrived in England on 30th January 1918 and was posted to 14th Field Engineers.

Thomas served in England and did not go to France until 1919.

He was returned to Australia in July 1919 and discharged.

Thomas was a member of the Helensburgh Town Band and he lived in Helensburgh until he died in 1949.
