Frank Parcell (Service No 6299) was born in Parramatta, N.S.W. around 1892.

When Frank enlisted in Wollongong, N.S.W., he was single, 23 years old, worked as a painter, and lived at Thirroul, N.S.W.

He embarked from Sydney on HMAT A14 Euripides with 20th Reinforcements, 13th Battalion, on 9th September 1916.  The troops arrived in England on 26th October 1916 and Frank was posted to 19th Battalion and joined them in France on 5th February 1917.

He was wounded on 27th March 1917 and admitted to hospital for treatment, returning to his unit on 9th May.  

On 12th April 1918 Frank was admitted to hospital in France after becoming ill.

On 3rd October 1918 he was wounded a second time and evacuated to England for treatment of a gun shot wound to his left foot.

He was returned to Australia in January 1919 and discharged medically unfit on 1st May 1919.

On 5th April 1920 Frank married Hannah Cordner at Wollongong and they had one child.

He died in 1972.

Frank's name appears on the Woodward Memorial Roll, Thirroul.
