Cecil Maber (Service No 50907) was a single, 18 year old labourer from Port Kembla, N.S.W.

Cecil enlisted in Wollongong, N.S.W. on his 18th birthday. He embarked on RMS Osterley with New South Wales Reinforcement 1, on 8th May 1918.

Cecil arrived in England on 10th July 1918, joining the battalion in France, on 28th September 1918. He saw active service for only a few days and was uninjured.

Cecil returned to Australia in July 1919, and was discharged on 11th September 1919.

In 1927, he married Philomena Byrnes and they had two children.

Cecil died in Wollongong, N.S.W. in 1979.
