Albert Dare (Service No 2591) was born in Dapto, N.S.W. about 1887.

At enlistment he was single, 29 years old and worked as a carter.

Albert embarked on HMATA 38 Ulysses, with 26th Battalion, 6th Reinforcement, on 27th October 1915. He arrived in Egypt, and soon after was admitted to hospital.

Albert returned to Australia in February 1916. He was discharged medically unfit due to eye problems.

In 1918, he married Jessie McKinnon, at Lismore, N.S.W. and they had five children.

Albert worked as a stock inspector for 30 years, and died in 1952.

His brother Ernest also served.
