Eoin Nixon (Service No 3099) was born in Wollongong, N.S.W.  In 1911 he married Alice Johnson at Marrickville, N.S.W. and they had 2 children.

At enlistment, Eoin was 33 years old, worked as a motor fitter and lived in Campsie, N.S.W.  

He embarked from Sydney on HMAT A63 Anchises with 7th Reinforcements, 35th Battalion, on 24th January 1917.  

After the troops arrived in England on 27th March 1917, Eoin was sent to signal school.  He subsequently joined 33rd Battalion in France as a signaller on 17th November 1917.

Eoin saw service on the Western Front until he became extremely sick and was admitted to hospital on 6th April 1918,  not returning to his unit until 5th December 1918.

Eoin was returned to Australia in June 1919 and finally discharged medically unfit on 22nd February 1920.
