Thomas Narbeth
Thomas Narbeth was born in Ipswich, Queensland.
At enlistment, Thomas he was single, 29 years old, employed as a motor driver, and lived in Woonona, N.S.W. Thomas had tried to enlist earlier in the war but had been rejected on medical grounds.
He was finally accepted and embarked from Sydney on SS Feldmarschall with 6th General Reinforcements (New Sourth Wales) on 19th June 1918.
The troops arrived in England on 26th August 1918 and Thomas was posted to 34th Battalion. He was sent to France but did not see any active service.
He was returned to Australia in July 1919 and discharged on 20th September 1919.
Thomas died in Parramatta in 1960 and his service is commemorated, as is that of his two brothers, Arthur & Edward, on the Bulli-Woonona War Memorial.
