Frederick William Grieve
Frederick William Grieve (Service No 25545) was born in Wollongong, N.S.W.
At enlistment he was a single, 19 years old, worked as a station hand and had served 3 years with the CMF.
Frederick embarked on HMAT A67 Orsova, with Field Artillery Brigade, Reinforcement 7, on 29th July 1916. He arrived in England on 14th September 1916, and spent quite some time in hospital with various illnesses, from late 1916 to early 1917. He arrived in France on 18th October 1917, and saw service on the Western Front.
Frederick was returned to Australia, in June 1919. He was not discharged for some time after returning home, but the reason is not given. Frederick was finally discharged medically unfit, on 5th May 1920.
A letter on file advises that he changed his name by deed poll, to John James Morey-Grieve.
He is buried in Point Clare Cemetery near Gosford, N.S.W.
