Frederick Charles Inskip
Frederick Charles Inskip (Service No 5714), was born in Shellharbour, N.S.W.
At enlistment, in December 1915, he stated he was a single 33 year old labourer. In fact, Frederick had married Ivy Keys, in 1907, and they had 3 children.
Frederick embarked on HMAT A55 Kyarra, with 1st Battalion, 18th Reinforcement, on 3rd June 1916. He arrived in England and joined 1st Battalion in France, on 3rd November 1916. Frederick saw service on the Western Front and seems to have remained healthy during his active service.
On 5th May 1917, while fighting at Bullecourt, France, he was wounded in action. Frederick was evacuated to hospital in England, for treatment of severe wounds to his head, hands and left foot. He was repatriated to Australia, in September 1917, and discharged medically unfit, due to his foot injuries, on 30th November 1917.
Frederick died in 1956.
