Peter Taylor (Service No 6323), was born in Balgownie, N.S.W.

At enlistment, he was single, 21 years old, worked as a farmer, lived in Balgownie, N.S.W., and had served 3 years with the CMF.

Peter embarked on HMAT A14 Euripides, with 1st Battalion, 20th Reinforcement, on 9th September 1916. He arrived in England on 26th October 1916, and joined the 1st Battalion in France, on 4th February 1917. On 25th February 1917, he was sent to hospital in England, for treatment of fluid on his left knee.

On 1st October 1917, he was admitted to hospital with appendicitis. Peter suffered post surgery complications and was repatriated to Australia, on 9th December 1918. He spent more time in hospital in Sydney, N.S.W., before he was discharged medically unfit on 31st May 1919.

Peter worked for the Sydney Tramway Company, and on 19th January 1921, he married Florence Johnson, and they had 2 children.

Peter died on 15 July 1932.  His service is commemorated on the Balgownie War Memorial 1914-1918.
