Alexander Roland Pascoe (Service No 7771), was born in Sydney, N.S.W.

At enlistment in Wollongong, N.S.W., he was single, 21 years old, worked as a labourer, lived in Port Kembla, N.S.W., and had served in the Cadets and Militia.

Alexander embarked on HMAT A38 Ulysses, with 1st Battalion, 26th Reinforcement, on 19th December 1917. He arrived in Egypt on 16th January 1918, and then went on to France, arriving on 2nd March 1918. He joined 1st Battalion, in the field on 12th May 1918.

Alexander saw service on the Western Front until 17th June 1918, when he was wounded in action. He was evacuated to hospital for treatment of a gun shot wound to his back, returning to France on 14th October 1918. Alexander was returned to Australia in July 1919, and discharged medically unfit on 24th September 1919.

After the war, Alexander worked as a platelayer. He married Annie Hay in Wollongong, N.S.W. and they had 6 children.

Alexander died on 29 December 1958, in Primbee, N.S.W.
