Charles Davies (Service No 1827) was born in Helensburgh,NSW around 1894.

At enlistment Charles was single, 21 years old, worked as a miner and had served 2 years with the CMF. He nominated his mother as his next of kin.

Charles embarked from Sydney on RMS Mongolia with 12th Light Horse Regiment, 10th Reinforcement on 8th July 1916.  He arrived in Egypt and joined 6th Light Horse Regiment, C Squadron on 12th August 1916.  On 9th September 1916 he was transferred to the Imperial Camel Corps.

He was admitted to hospital on 27th September 1916 where he was diagnosed with epilepsy.

Charles was returned to Australia in December 1916 and discharged medically unfit on 26th January 1917.
