Clarence Parsons (Service No 5189) was born in Sydney in 1895.

At enlistment, Clarence was single, 20 years old, worked as a clerk and lived in Wollongong, and had served 4 years with the Cadets.

He embarked from Sydney on SS Makarini with 4th Battalion, 16th Reinforcement on 1st April 1916.  He went from England to France and joined 54th Battalion there on 11th October 1916.

On 17th March 1918 Clarence was admitted to hospital suffering from pneumonia and as a result was repatriated to Australia in April 1918.

He was discharged medically on 18th September 1918.

In 1921 Clarence married Doris Cheney in Sydney and they had 2 children.

In August 1920 he joined the NSW Police Force and served in various areas until he was posted to Wollongong as a Sergeant.

Clarence died suddenly in 1949.
