Harold Seale
Harold Seale (Service No 3222), was born in Sydney, N.S.W., in 1883.
At enlistment he was single, 31 years old, worked as a warehouseman and lived in Thirroul, N.S.W.
Harold embarked on HMAT A29 Suevic, with his brother, Spencer, and 18th Battalion, 7th Reinforcement, on 20th December 1915. He arrived in Egypt, and was transferred to 3rd Battalion, on 14th February 1916, arriving in France, on 28th March 1916.
Harold was wounded in action between 22nd and 27th July 1916, while fighting at Pozieres, France. He was evacuated to hospital in England, for treatment of serious shrapnel wounds to his back, right shoulder and chest.
Harold was repatriated to Australia, in October 1916, and discharged medically unfit on 25th April 1917.
Harold died in Manly, N.S.W., in 1961 and is commemorated on the Thirroul War Memorial, along with his brother, Spencer.
