William Kilpatrick (Service No 4302) was born in Woonona, NSW.

At enlistment William was single, 25 years old, worked as a miner and lived at Corrimal, NSW.  He embarked from Sydney on HMAT A54 Runic with 5th Field Ambulance, 3rd Reinforcement on 9th August 1915.  He arrived on Gallipoli on 21st September 1915 and served until the evacuation of the peninsula.

William then served in Egypt until he was sent to France on 27th June 1916 where he saw service on the Western Front until the end of the war.

Willima was returned to Australia in May 1919 as nursing staff and was discharged on 17th June 1919.

On 27th November 1920 he married Amelia Hughes in Corrimal and they raised 2 children.  William returned to work at the coal mines.  He collapsed at work on 27th May 1949 and was taken to Wollongong Hospital where he died the next day.
