Wilfred Thompson (Service No 66540) was born at Lake Illawarra, N.S.W.

At enlistment Wilifred was single, 25 years old and worked as  fisherman.

He embarked from Adelaide on HMAT A36 Boonah with New South Wales 21st Reinforcement on 22nd October 1918.

While en-route to Europe, the war ended and the ship returned to Australia.

Wilfred was discharged from the AIF on 4th February 1919.

On 29th March 1924 he married Kathleen Brown at Dapto, N.S.W. and the couple raised 3 children.

Wilfred enlisted for service in World War II on 26th May 1942 (Service No N266509) until 28th February 1954.

Wilfred died in 1964.
