Lincoln Edwin Tuckwell
Lincoln Tuckwell (Service no 3604) was born in Queanbeyan, NSW.
At the time of enlistment Lincoln was single, 19 years of age and employed as a carpenter in Toolijoola, NSW . He had previously served 2 years with the Cadets and 18 months with the Militia.
Lincoln embarked on HMAT A60 - Aeneas with the 18th Battalion, 8th Reinforcements on 20 December 1915. He arrived in Egypt and was transferred to 12th Field Company Engineers on 26 March 1916.
Lincoln served in Egypt until he was posted to France on 11 June 1916. Lincoln saw service on the Western Front.
He was sent to hospital in England on 1 June 1917 and returned to his unit in France on 9 May 1918.
Lincoln was returned to Australia in April 1919 and medically discharged on 25 January 1920 with synavitis of his right knee.
In 1921 he married Kathleen Hammond in Manly and together they had one child.
