Harold Wilfred Twaddell
Harold Twaddell (Service no 4660) was born in Carcoar, NSW.
At the time of enlistment in Kiama, NSW Harold was single, 24 years of age and employed as a labourer in Bombo, NSW. Harold had served 2 years with the Militia.
Harold embarked on HMAT A72 - Beltana as a bugler with the 30th Battalion, 12th Reinforcements on 25 November 1916.
Harold arrived in England on 29 January 1917 and finally joined 33rd Battalion in France on 22 December 1917. He saw service on the Western Front but was injured in an accident on 28 July 1918.
Harold was returned to Australia in July 1919 and discharged on 23 October 1919.
In 1922 he married Emma Overton in Canowindra, NSW and worked on the land.
Harold died at his brothers home in Concord, NSW in 1951 and is remembered on the Albion Park Roll of Honor.
