Christopher Percy Drinkwater
Christopher Percy Drinkwater (Service No 6259), was born in Keiraville, N.S.W.
At enlistment he was single, 18 years old, worked as a wheeler and had served 6 months in the Citizen Military Forces.
Christopher embarked on HMAT A14 Euripides, with 4th Battalion, 20th Reinforcement, on 9th September 1916. He arrived in England on 26th October 1916, and was sent to signal school. Christopher joined 5th Division Signal Company, in France, on 23rd April 1917. He saw service on the Western Front, until he was admitted to hospital in England in July 1918, with an accidental injury, noted as a wound to the right leg. Christopher was returned to Australia in December 1918, and discharged medically unfit, on 28th March 1919.
In 1922, Christopher married Lilly Bird, and they had 3 children.
Christopher died in 1964, and his ashes are interred in Woronora Cemetery, Sutherland, N.S.W.
Christopher's service is commemorated on the Keiravile District Honour Roll.
