John Thomas Dwyer
John Thomas Dwyer (Service No 2722), was born in Appin, N.S.W.
At enlistment in Kiama, N.S.W., he was single, 21 years old and worked as a watchman.
John embarked on HMAT A24 Benalla, with 37th Battalion, 5th Reinforcement, on 9th November 1916. He arrived in England on 9th January 1917, where he suffered an injury to his left hand and was returned to Australia, in May 1917. John was discharged medically unfit, on 10th August 1917.
In 1921, he married Catherine Atkinson, in Drummoyne, N.S.W.
John died in Bulli, N.S.W., in 1970.
John's brother, Peter Dwyer (Service No 5672 ), also served.
