William Price
William Price (Service no 5194) was born in Bracken, Wales.
In 1914 he married Caroline Frankham in Helensburgh and she was listed as next of kin.
At the time of enlistment, William was married, 26 years of age, employed as a splicer and resided in Tarrawanna, NSW.
William embarked on SS Makarini with the 4th Battalion, 16th Reinforcements on 1 April 1916 and arrived in Egypt on 1st May. William was posted to France on 29 May 1916, where he joined the 5th Artillery Division there on 7th September 1916. He saw service on the Western Front.
On 26 May 1918 he was injured in an accident and received serious head lacerations and concussion. He was repatriated to Australia in December 1918 and discharged medically unfit on 11 May 1919.
William's service is commemorated on the Balgownie War Memorial 1914-1918.
