Frederick Alexander Buckle
Frederick Alexander Buckle (Service No 6114), was born in Wollongong, N.S.W., around 1895.
At enlistment, he was single, 20 years old, worked as a coke worker, lived in Keiraville, N.S.W., and had served 2 years with both the Senior Cadets and the 37th Infantry Militia.
Frederick embarked on HMAT A18 Wiltshire, with the 4th Battalion, 19th Reinforcement, on 22nd August 1916. He arrived in England on 12th October 1916, and joined 4th Battalion in France, on 20th December 1916. Frederick saw service on the Western Front and has no wounding recorded on file. In May 1919, he was granted leave to attend a motor mechanic training course, which he completed in July 1919. Frederick was returned to Australia in September 1919, and discharged on 14th December 1919.
In 1925, Frederick married Dorothy Bickerstaff, in Sydney, N.S.W.
Frederick died in 1967.
