Frederick Augustus Lord
Frederick Augustus Lord (Service No 2096), was born in Launceston, Tasmania.
He married Alice Trevethan, in Bulli, N.S.W., in 1915.
At enlistment, he was 29 years old, worked as a miner and lived in Bellambi, N.S.W.
Frederick embarked on HMAT A68 Anchises, with the 36th Battalion, 3rd Reinforcement, on 24th August 1916. He arrived in England on 11th October 1916, and joined the 36th Battalion in France, on 22nd November 1916. Frederick saw service on the Western Front with the 36th Battalion, until 30th April 1918, when he was transferred to the 33rd Battalion.
On 8th August 1918, Frederick was wounded in action, and evacuated to hospital for treatment of a gun shot wound to his left arm. He was returned to Australia in December 1918, and discharged medically unfit, on 13th April 1919.
Frederick and Alice moved to Victoria after the war.
Frederick died in Bendigo, Victoria, in 1944.
