John Reddall (Service no 1683) was born in Dapto, NSW. At the time of enlistment John was married, 47 years of age and a traveller who had served 2 years with the Illawarra Light Horse.

On 13th September 1899, he married Maud Craig in Shellharbour, NSW and together they had 2 children.

John embarked on HMAT A67 - Orsova with the Australian Remount Unit 2, Squadron 6 on 10 November 1915. He arrived in Egypt and was admitted to hospital in Cairo, Egypt on 20 December 1915 as he was unwell.

John was returned to duty on 9 February 1916 and was transferred to Australian Army Medical Corps on 5 April 1916. He arrived in France on 17 July 1916 and saw service on the Western Front until 11 November 1916 when he was sent to England for medical treatment.

John was repatriated to Australia in February 1917 and medically discharged on 17 May 1917.

He is remembered on the Albion Park Roll of Honour.
