Arthur Edmond Starr
Arthur Edward Starr (Service No 1790), was born in Campbelltown, N.S.W.
At enlistment, he was single, 34 years old, worked as a miner and lived in Bulli, N.S.W.
Arthur embarked on HMAT A60 Aeneas, with the 7th Light Horse Regiment, 13th Reinforcement, on 20th December 1915. He arrived in Egypt on 17th January 1916, and was transferred to the 10th Field Artillery Brigade, on 1st April 1916. Arthur then went to France, arriving on 13th June 1916, with the 37th Battery, and saw service on the Western Front.
On 15th July 1917, Arthur was wounded in action. He was treated for gun shot wounds to his back, returning to duty on 18th August 1917. Arthur was returned to Australia in May 1919, and discharged on 3rd August 1919.
In 1933, Arthur married Edith Towers, in Bulli, N.S.W.
