George Perkins (Service No 2961) was born in Peterborough, England.

At enlistment he was single, 22 years old, worked as a labourer, and lived in Kiama, NSW.

George embarked from Sydney on HMAT A25 Anglo Egyptian with the 6th Light Horse Regiments, 21st Reinforcement on 19th September 1916. He arrived in Egypt on 24th October 1916 and was posted to C Squadron.

George saw service in Egypt and the Middle East and has no wounding recorded on file. He did contract Malaria and was admitted to hospital on 6th June 1918.

George returned to Australia in June 1919 and was discharged medically unfit on 18th October 1919.

He died in 1979 at the age of 86.
