Albert Rintoul (Service No 2418) was born in Young, N.S.W.

At enlistment Albert was married, 21 years old, worked as a painter and lived at Kiama, N.S.W.  He had served 3 years with the Militia.

Albert first enlisted in 1914 but was discharged in 1915.

On 16th June 1915 Albert married Vera Gale and they raised a large family.

On his 2nd enlistment he embarked from Sydney on HMAT A30 Borda with 36th Battalion, 4th Reinforcements on 17th October 1916.

He arrived in England on 9th January 1917 and served there until he was returned to Australia in April 1918.  He was discharged medically unfit on 3rd August 1918.

While in England he was injured when he was crushed by a horse, receiving a fractured left elbow.

Albert enlisted for service during World War II on 19th March 1941 (Service No N31156) and served with 20th Battalion until 14th April 1942.
