Wilfred Rouch
Wilfred Rouch (Service No 7069), was born in Ipswich, England around 1894.
At the time of enlistment, in Kiama, N.S.W., he was single, 23 years old, worked as a farmer and lived in Kiama, N.S.W.
Wilfred embarked on HMAT A72 Beltana, with the 13th Battalion, 23rd Reinforcement, on 25th November 1916. He arrived in England on 29th January 1917, and joined the 13th Battalion in the field, on 17th July 1917. Wilfred saw service on the Western Front until 18th August 1918, when he was wounded in action. He was admitted to hospital for treatment of a shrapnel wound to his thigh and returned to duty on 27th September 1918.
On 10th November 1918, Wilfred was admitted to hospital, seriously ill with pneumonia. He was discharged medically unfit, in London, England, on 12th September 1919.
On 24th September 1919, Wilfred married Kate Turner, in Dorset, England.
Wilfred died in Essex, England, in early 1968.
