Eric Brown was born in Dapto, NSW in 1893 and moved to Queensland with his family some time after 1906.

At the time of enlistment in Brisbane, Queensland with his brother Ambrose Brown (Service no 3129) Eric was single, 23 years of age, employed as a farmer and resided in Belmont, Queensland.

Eric embarked with his brother on HMAT A64 - Demosthenes with the 49th Battalion, 8th Reinforcements on 23 December 1916.  He arrived in England on 3 March 1917.  Eric was transferred to the Machine Gun Corps on 29 June 1917 and joined the 1st Machine Gun Company in Belgium on 23 October 1917. 

Eric was granted leave for employment in England from 12 May 1919 until 11 July 1919 and returned to Australia in August 1919 and discharged on 21 November 1919.

In 1922 he married Elsie Bullock in Murwillumbah, Queensland.

Eric died in Warwick, Queensland in 1971.
