Aubrey McClintock (Service no 3859) was born in Taree, NSW.  At the time of enlistment, Aubrey was single, 26 years of age, employed as a book keeper, resided in Kiama, NSW and had previously served in the Militia.

Aubrey embarked on HMAT A29 - Suevic with the 13th Battalion, 12th Reinforcements on 20 December 1915.  He was admitted to hospital with the 'mumps' and due to illness did not join 13th Battalion until 16 December 1916.

Aubrey saw service on the Western Front with the 13th Battalion,  A Company until 11 April 1917 when he was taken prisoner in Reincourt, France.  He was sent to the Limberg Prisioner of War Camp, Limberg, Germany for the duration of the war and was repatriated to England on 14 December 1918.  He was admitted to hospital soon after his repatriation with Pneumomia.

Aubrey was returned to Australia in March 1919 and discharged on 9th July 1919.

On 29 October 1919 he married Margaret Norris in Byron Bay, NSW and together they had one child.

Aubrey died 1922 and is remembered on the Kiama War Memorial.

Aubrey's brother Norman McClintock (Service no 731) also served.
