Septimus Frontine Wilson
Septimus Frontine Wilson (Service No 579), was born in Braidwood, N.S.W.
He was educated at the Kings School and was a rugby player.
At enlistment, he was single, 32 years old and worked as a bank accountant with the ES&A Bank, in Wollongong, N.S.W.
Septimus enlisted in Lismore, N.S.W., and embarked from Brisbane, Qld, on HMAT A15 Star of England, with the 2nd Light Horse Regiment, C Squadron, on 24th September 1914. After arriving in Egypt, he was admitted to hospital on 10th February 1915, with appendicitis. Septimus arrived in Gallipoli, Turkey, on 12th May 1915 and served until 28th August 1915, when he was evacuated to hospital due to sickness. On 4th September 1915, he was sent to hospital in England with debility. Septimus was repatriated to Australia in March 1916, and discharged medically unfit with a pension on 24th May 1916.
On 27th October 1919, he married Emily Dickinson, in Mullumbimby, N.S.W. Septimus and Emily had 2 children and Septimus returned to work in the bank.
Septimus died in Sydney, N.S.W., in 1958.
